Sink Kitchen Units

Sink Kitchen Units are one of the units in the kitchen that you are most likely to replace. This is because in general there are a lot of water connections housed in the sink unit. So things like small leak that may come from the main water feed pipes or leaks from your trap or washing machine connection drip directly into the skin kitchen unit. Also because of the constant heating and cooling of pipes condensation form which also may result in the water getting the MFC and causing the wood to blow.
To limit this you can routinely check for leaks and make sure that the area is well ventilated. Unfortunately though the sink kitchen unit is a unit that tends to need replacing before any others.
Replacing this unit can be a pain and you may need to remove your worktops if before you can replace it. This is especially the case if you sink is in a corner and can not be pulled out or replaced with a new unit. Obviously if you have joined worktops this may not be possible and you may need to replace your worktops at the same time.
However if this unit is free to pull out it is a little easier but there is still a some work involved..
Depending on how much unit back is left in you current unit you will need to remove you sink. If you have cut ur pipes in a suitable place then you can then lower the legs a little on the unit and then pull it free from its position.. If this is not possible and there are a lot obstruction in the unit you can break the unit up in place which is sometimes the easiest option.
To fit the new unit you will need to mark any holes and cut out for pipes before bushing your new sink kitchen unit back into place. Then, make sure you fix your unit to adjacent units and worktop before you begin plumbing so you know there will be no movement in the pipes.
